Shirley Looney Memorial Car Show

October 21, 2017   This is always a great show at a great location put on a bunch of great folks. This year presented some pretty big challenges however – the weather was steamy and somewhat
threatening, and turnout was less than expected due to a scheduling glitch that put this show on simultaneously with the popular annual Automotive Painters Supply cruise-in.
That being said, they still managed to draw 125+ registered participants. DSR was well represented by Herb and Nancy Thoms, Bobby Peterson, Ed Grimes, and Dick Cashdollar.

2nd Annual Fish Fry, Bake Sale and Cruise-In

A few cars came and spent most of the day with us.  Those that braved the cold weather (70 Degree). We had people walk in off the street and over 100 meal tickets were pre sold. The guys started cooking at 5 am and kept frying fish until just after noon. It was a lot of fun to hangout with so many people and enjoy fish and cars

Coker Challenge

September 15-17 2017   Team Henderson is glad to welcome our second team: Travis Henderson and Charles Dewberry in a 66 Mustang for the ‘17 Coker Challenge out of Tennessee. Scott and Mallory, the original team drove the 1964 ½ Mustang in the rally.  This is a shortened regional rally. The weather is perfect with clear skies and good weather.
Something about mid September in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains. Cool morning temps, fresh air and fog shrouded mountains, and the smell of half burned gasoline puffing out the back end of vintage cars.  But the best part is being able to share this adventure with two of my kids.
My hats off to Mallory Henderson she started rallying with me five years ago and has taken a real liking to the sport. She has shown steady improvement with each rally. This rally was our best as we won 3 aces and took third place for the rally.
